A Perfect Amalfi Coast Itinerary

Planning your time wisely can make your trip much more enjoyable. Because travel between towns can take longer than expected, staying in just a couple of bases helps reduce constant packing and moving.

If I had six days, I would split my time like this:

• Three days on Capri

• Three days in Sorrento

Sorrento is especially convenient because ferries connect you easily to Positano, Amalfi, and Capri. You can also take a relaxing day trip to Ravello from there.

If you don’t enjoy winding mountain roads, the ferries are the best way to travel. They’re scenic, smooth, and much less stressful.

Driving the Amalfi Coast can be beautiful, but it can also be intimidating. The roads twist sharply along cliffs, and navigating them at night can be challenging. It’s something that’s best done during daylight if you want to fully enjoy the views.

If you have 10 days and 9 nights, a slower itinerary works beautifully:

• 3 days in Capri

• 3 days in Sorrento

• 3 days in Ravello

Ravello is a wonderful place to stay at the end of your trip because the views are incredible and it feels peaceful after visiting the busier coastal towns.
